Earthbreak

Earthbreak

In Denmark, 60% of our land is farmland. A land that has been changed and processed more in the last 250 years than the previous 10,000, with indisputable negative consequences for our biodiversity, climate and marine environment.

Earthbreak buys up conventional agriculture to give the land and nature a break and restore some of the diversity that once was. At the same time, it supports passionate people who are looking for new ways to reform our agricultural system.

Hestruplund

“...horses, pigs, cows, and sheep belong on my farm,” wrote lyricist Margrethe Marstrand in 1955. And she may have had a point — animals play a vital role in maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems.

At Hestruplund in Odsherred, beef cattle have been part of the landscape for decades. Now, we’re taking a bold step: removing 104 hectares from agricultural production to restore the land’s original nature. And we’re doing it with the help of the very animals that once grazed here — large herbivores that shape and sustain biodiversity.

Kornerup Mill

In Skjoldungernes Land National Park you will find the old Kornerup Mill in scenic surroundings.

In this water protected area, the land has been cultivated conventionally for decades. Now it is time for a break.

We look forward to following the establishment of new forest and biodiversity projects, as well as enjoying the harvest from regenerative agriculture with the mill's new residents.

Langelandsgaard

Close to the protected nature area Heatherhill, at Rågeleje in North Zealand, an opportunity suddenly arose to acquire 215 hectares of contiguous land.

In the area you already find a bit of bog, a bit of forest and meadows with grass - but also 155 conventionally cultivated agriculture which must now be used for something much better.

Runegaarden

Nestled in the northern part of Hornsherred, Runegaarden stretches down to the tranquil shores of the Isefjord. Here, the land’s naturally low soil fertility offers a unique opportunity: to create a larger, connected landscape where biodiversity can thrive.

This isn’t just a restoration project — it’s a living legacy. A gift to nature, and to the next generation of students at Baunehøj Efterskole.

Ryttergården

After several trips around the Danish countryside, we set the first modest flag in the soil of Jutland, or rather in the Jutland heath. We fell in love with the Vrads Sande area, near the small village of Vrads, in Søhøjlandet near Silkeborg.

We need "More, Better and Bigger Nature in Denmark" say the experts and earthbreak wants to help.

Now Vrads Sande is connected to the west with Bøgelund Banke to the east in what is called Skovlandet.

About

change ventures, earthbreak and seabreak are initiatives established to drive positive impact toward a more sustainable future.

The initiatives are founded and managed by Camilla Voigt Zacho and Jacob Jelsing as spin-offs from the ZJ Group.

Values

Personal choices are crucial for our future.

It is not just about technological quick fixes or political reformations. It is about our personal choices.

We need to moderate our way of living and find the true value in a moderate lifestyle.

We need to live our values.
